On the occasion of National Unity day (31st October 2014), Marians (classes I - XII) participated in the activities promoting the values of national Unity, Integrity, Safety and Security.
Special assembly was organized to commemorate the great work done by Sardar Vallabh Bhai Patel. Pledge for Unity and cultural presentations were major component of the event. Classes XI & XII students participated in "Run for Unity" in the neighourhood to highlight the virtue of national unity in the society & to uphold the unity, integrity and safety of our dear Motherland, INDIA and all fellow citizen.

"हिंडन बचाओ जीवन बचाओ"
ब्रिटिश काउंसल ऑफ इंडिया के जल संरक्षण प्रोजेक्ट पर सेंट मेरीज क्रिश्चियन स्कूल एंवम नेपाल के अनल ज्योति बोर्डिंग स्कूल संयुक्त रुप से कार्य कर रहे हैं जिसमें दो स्कूलों के छात्र - छात्राएँ आपस में एक दूसरे को सह्योग करते हुए संरक्षण के लिए जागरुकता का कार्य कर रहे हैं l
इस श्रृखंला में सेंट मेरीज क्रिश्चियन स्कूल के 90 छात्र - छात्राएँ अपने 10 शिक्षकों के साथ हिंडन जल बिरादरी के सह्योग से गाँव सुठारी मुरादनगर हिंडन नदी के किनारे गए जहाँ पर बच्चों ने गाँववासियों से हिंडन प्रदूषण के कारण, प्रभाव और सुझावों से संबंधित 14 प्रश्न पूछे l
बच्चों, शिक्षकों एवं सुठारी वासियों ने भविष्य में साथ साथ नदी एवं पर्यावरण संरक्षण के कार्यों व जागरूकता को जन-जन तक पहुँचाने का संकल्प लिया l  
प्रश्नावली के समस्त प्रश्न हिंडन व हिंडन की समस्याओं को जानने के उद्देश्य से थे ताकि प्रदूषण के कारण व प्रभावों को जान कर जल व नदी संरक्षण कि नीति बनाने में अंतर्राष्ट्रीय स्तर पर सहयोग किया जा सके l

GANIT WEEK CELEBRATION

 

Under the worthy guidance of CBSE the “GANIT WEEK” was celebrated from 16th to 22nd Dec 2014, in school to commemorate the birth anniversary of Sh. Srinivas Ramanujan, which falls on 22nd Dec.
Many different activities were conducted in the school both for students & teachers. On the whole the “GANIT WEEK” celebration led to an extraordinary and super enthusiastic participation by students. The event promoted the interest of students in mathematical concepts and their application in daily life.

"The Great Indian Conference 2014"

 The students of Class XII of St. Mary's Christian School , Sahibabad along with two of the faculty members attended ˜The Great Indian Conference 2014 organized by Indian School of Business and Finance on 6th December 2014. The conference saw the football of numerous schools from Delhi and NCR.
During the first half, The first dialogue was by Gen. (Dr) Vijay kumar Singh, Minister of State for External Affairs, who talked about India’s foreign relations and the role of youth in building our Nation.
Dr. Vijay Sahasrabuddhe, National Vice President, BJP, emphasised on the kind of crisis our economy is facing and how can our youth really make a change.
Next words were by Smt. Lalitha Kumarmangalam, Chairperson, National Commission for women, who highlighted the participation of Indian women in contemporary Indian Society.
Second half witnessed Sh. Manvendra Singh, Colonel, Territorial Army, Defence Expert and MLA Rajathan, talked about modernizing the Indian military. He aptly said that, Mind is the ultimate weapon.
Sh. A.R Kohli, Former Governor, Mizoram mesmerized the audience by his words on Modernizing education to keep up pace with 21st Century. Through his motivational speech , he  convinced students to develop a positive mental attitude which comes from devotion and willingness to succeed.
Last but not the least Sh. Abhilash Khandekar, National Political Editor, Dainik Bhaskar Group of Newspapers highlighted the critical role of media in shaping the future of India.
At the end of each address given by these renowned personalities, students were asked to give their opinion about the speaker in the form of a report. Best reports were awarded. The conference proved highly informative and helped the students to draw a solid conclusion about Our Country India as the next superpower.


EXHIBITION OF INTERNATIONAL PROJECT WORK 

A much awaited occasion has been organized in St. Mary’s Christian School, Sahibabad. SMCS has organized an EXHIBITION OF INTERNATIONAL PROJECT WORK and an opportunity for parents to have a look on the work done by the students under the name SESSIONAL WORK DISPLAY which showcased work done by the students throughout the session. The main highlight of the event was the display of the 7 Projects under British Council ISA in collaboration with Annal Jyoti Boarding School Nepal, BTOC Canada and Malyadeva Srilanka with the live demonstration by students on different cultures, attrires and Dance forms all over the world. It also showcased the Famous Personaltities in different countries and displayed the pictures of students recent visit to Nepal and  the friendship cards received from the students in Nepal under same. Every movement of the Exhibition not only impressed the Chief Guest for the occasion Rev. Sr. Elsy, Principal and Rev. Sr. Rita of St. Francis School, Ghaziabad.
On the occasion Principal Ms. Ashu John appreciated the efforts of students & teachers but also appreciated their work and promised to have such great events in school in future as well.
  

FACTORY VISIT UNDER ISA PROJECT


The students of III to V Class visited cloth mill at Pilakhuwa Waterproofing Company Mussoorie , Pilakhuwa Road.
Students were shown the step by step process of making cloth. They saw the place where raw cotton was kept.  And then how Machine change cotton into thin thread. Then they were shown how these thread are converted into cloth. The process of how thread is woven into cloth was also shown. Children enjoyed the process and asked several queries. The entire visit was enriching and useful.
