4^th November 2015 was the witnessing day in St. Mary’s Christian School, when the final Volley Ball Match of 3 day series was declared open by the Chief Guest & Principal of the School.  “The Rockers Team (XII B)” and “The Unicorns Team (XI B)” were focused on the turning coin of toss; which resulted with the spark of moment for “Unicorn (XI B)”.

The 12 players with unihand clasp lifted the joyous start.  Best of 3 matches ended with a victory of “Unicorns team”. Enthusiastic spectators multifolded the joy of success.

The series was planned as an attempt to widen, deepen & heighten the value oriented teamwork, coordination and confidence.  As it is well known that in the dust of defeat as well as the laurels of victory,  there is a glory to be found if one has done his best.”

The series ended with the Trophy awarded to the winning team.

On 19^TH Oct 2015, SMCS Family with full enthusiasm celebrated the Dussehra Festival. The significance of Dussehra festival lies in the religious values. It teaches us that good triumph over evil. The festivity involved colourful processions, traditional dance, music and theatrical representation of Hindu epic Ramayana. Mahishasura Mardini act was appreciable. The story of Ramayana is relevant to us as well, if we wish to progress spiritually, we have to first make efforts to control the negative tendencies. Only then we can cultivate the positive ones. The message given by Sir Principal highlighted the 10 vices Dussehra fights – Loathing, Desire, Envy, Selfishness, Dishonesty, Obsession, Gluttony, Rage, Passion & Pride. Students were guided to celebrate restoration of social order, victory of good over evil, a well-defined social structure and choosing the right path. The programme was ended with the national Anthem. 

English is an adventure, dare to explore, with these thoughts in mind the Marians had celebrated fun filled English Week. The week commenced with an inaugurating assembly on 12^th October 2015. Where the logo of the English week was unveiled and students enjoyed a powerpoint presentation on English and personality development. The second day had a morning assembly filled with fun and frolic for classes VI to VII where they were given a stage to depict their talents as imitating vocational professionals.

The third day morning assembly was followed by various activities which were filled with enthusiasm, where students of grade I & II participated whole heartedly in public speaking and role plays on country and festivals.

Class XI & XII students were given free stage to show their hidden talents and empowerment of their impulsive  behavior through  poster making competition, where they tried to take some break from their regular routine of pack study schedule. The use of their ideas blended with papers of vibrant colours, brought wonderful piece of art work showing the history of great writers and poets.

In the closing ceremony quiz was conducted where students participated with full enthusiasm. The week had drama, poetry, imagination, thoughts tips for better studies etc. 

On 3rd October 2015, SMCS organized International Project Work Exhibition & Sessional Work Display. The exhibition was inaugurated by our honourable & respectable Sir Manger & Ma’am Director by lighting up the lamp. Student displayed their Summer Vacation Work which included Posters, Poem Books, Story Books and models related to their subjects. Wonderful and amazing science working models were displayed in science lab. Kidszone displayed all the activities of their work in various rooms. There was a section of ISA which displayed Global Connection on Various topics depicting the ISA Projects for different grades for session 2015-16 was received from the parents and guardians. Altogether it was a huge success and the efforts of the Marians were highly praised.

On 30^th October,2015, St. Mary’s Christian School has celebrated Halloween which is one of the most enthusiastically celebrated festivals of France. Students of grade V, VI, VII and kids zone were dressed up as zombies, Witches, Vampires. Monster Parade was carried in the school premises. Scary Cards were exchanged by the students in order to promote the use of French Language. Pictures of children in different poses were also clicked. They had enjoyed the day a lot. It was a great fun!
